Okay, here comes a few photos taken yesterday afternoon and this morning. Enjoy!
Starting out is 'Sunrise'. Which one is which parent of lacunosa and obscura? The fragrance is just the perfect combination of the two!
Christina
Meet 'Sunrise' and friends!
Stunning as always, Christina - takes my breath away!! Karen
I second that motion! My GOOOOOODNESS such gorgeous hoyas and your pictures are awesome! Wish MY camera took closeups like that.
B
Thanks! I guess my little "Sammy" is still with me. It shuts down just about every 3rd or 4th picture, but it's still working fine - picture wise that is... It's not the camera that takes the close-ups! My camera has a super macro at about 2.5 inches and it's only 4 megapixels. I have no image stabilizator or vibration reduction...
Knowing the above I wonder what I could do with a super macro at 1.2 inches, vibration reduction, 8 megapixels and some other features... Well, we'll soon find out because my new camera is on the way!
Christina
I agree with Karen. Totally stunning Christina!
I can't wait to see how the new camera pans out! Your pictures are gorgeous!! I can't believe you have all of those hoyas blooming, as usual. Thanks for sharing!
Heather
Beautiful flowas as usual!!
Blessings,
Awanda
Beautiful blooms Christina....the Obovata and Tanna are especially pretty....
Sandy
Lovely! My 'Sunrise' is blooming too, and the fragrance has to be my favorite...or one of them!
Pretty Pretty Pretty.... sp. tanna sure is a little beauty. Hmmmm do I need another hoya?
Thanks ladies! That little umbel (fully open now) of 'Sunrise' is filling our whole living room with its fragrance. Even though carnosa is blooming with a couple of umbels, salweenica too is quite fragrant... 'Sunrise' beats them all!

Christina, can I come live with you? I'll shovel snow ......
Those are beautiful blooms! Congratulations!!!
Ann
Ann, we do have a guest room and in it right now are several blooming hoyas. How's that for "advertising"?! The snow is gone so you wouldn't need to shovel any...
Christina (wishing everybody a good night)
My 'Sunrise' bloomed too. It is the ONLY thing that has bloomed here all winter except for a couple of lacunosa blooms.
I had such a wonderful blooming fall last year that it just made up for it by a completely bloomless winter & spring. Ha. I guess they have to rest sometime. I do have buds forming on some of the outside carnosas and pubicalyx. I also keep getting buds on the lasiantha, but they just blast before opening. What am I doing wrong?
I have to agree that 'Sunrise' is now one of my favorite smells. I like it better than both its parents now. Also, it is such a vigorous and healthy GROWER. It does much better than either of it's parents in that department too. I love that plant.
Congrats on all the new bloomers!!
Marcy
They are all outstanding Christina. Wow, so many buds and blooms.
What ever you are doing keep it up, and keep the pictures coming. I had never seen the buds for caudata before, even the buds are unique.

Okay, today I got my new camera. I've only had it for 6-7 hours but I've already had some serious fun with it! I used to love my little Samsung but with this new one it was love at first shot!!!
Here's a link to some photos that I've taken this afternoon/early evening: http://www.myhoyas.com/Niclas%20foton.htm
I hope you enjoy them!
Goodnight from Christina
Wow, that really is impressive. Did you get the one we spoke of? That is something else. The colors are so vibrant!
Heather
No Heather, I didn't get the one we spoke of. I ended up with a Nikon instead. I was told that Nikon takes great macro shots (in good light as most cameras) so I thought I'd give it a try. GLAD I DID! The colours are more acurate with the new camera than with my old.
I've had some more fun with it today... Enjoy! First up is anulata.
Tomorrow we're going on our annual Hoya bus trip.

You and your camera take some marvelous pictures. Thanks for sharing them. Have big fun on your hoya trip.
Christina, what model Nikon did you get? Unbelievable photos!
Edited to say your pictures drive me CRAZY! I have a Nikon D-70 and a special macro lens and if I get a picture half as good as yours it's completely by accident.
