Your welcome. Does not look like as many pictures this year. They have been having shows for 47-48 years or so ! And their plants in the show always have so many flowers !
Wow! I enjoyed looking at the pictures.
Thank you for the link Allison!
Wow, those were so beautiful! Thanks for posting that link, I really enjoyed it and have got to find a show to attend!
Allison did you ever show any of yours?
April I joined two years ago in Jan I think it was. And the show's are in Feb. too late to show. Then my health progress rapidly so by the next year I could not go anymore. The show I did go to they have my picture .
It was a show/sale I will always remember :))
Well it sounds like a good memory! So do they start grooming the plant right after the show?
Most growers don't take their show plants home in fear of pest even though no pest s strict you can never know th healtheist plant can have pest. I know ones that do take them home treat them . Others sell them. I also know people who bring plants to sell don't bring any home.
They do start choosing what plants they will start showing ad preparing for the next year. A plant must be owened at least three months to show it.
So much work and time is put into a Show and it was extremly exciting !
That's what I found out at our last Meeting. I couldn't believe they could sell those beautiful plants until I heard some of the stories about whole collections being wiped out. I'm still trying to decide if I want to show or not simply because my plants are so new and I am attached to them.
Out show will be the Friday and Saturday before Mother's Day.
Oh my the people I knwo who show are extremly series about it. They live for it. There is a lot of work and time put into show plants. This group has some of the best I've ever seen though they do have people that have been growing and showing 30 plus years. Just amazing plants each with more blooms you could only dream of having. :)) Plants 24-30 inches across each and every spot on it perfect. Simply WOW ~
