Had to spend about an hour in emergency yesterday morning.
Monieque (spelling may not be right) fell from the counter and received massive injuries. She tore off her arms and legs and only has a small amount of body left. Pray that she makes it. It was so sad to see her arms, legs and soil thrown all over the floor.
Time in Emergency..
Oh my so sorry. I will be praying. That's your plant right ? Were you in the Hospital ?
I know where another plant is for you if she does not make it.
Allison,
Yes it is the AV. She is the one you sent me.
Hope she makes it. Maybe she will become a couple of plants instead of one.
I only think she will be one because when she dived off it really ruined the leaves.
So sad. This past winter every time I picked up a plant I dropped it. Finally figured out I was trying to do two things at once. Like move a plant and pick spent leaves from another. When I'm with the avs I do one things at a time and it's better. Poor Raspberry Rampage has been squashed 3 times. Mississippi didn't make the last drop. Totally smashed. Big Time Squished.
Oh, no! I've had plants come back from just a scrap of crown, so don't lose hope altogether for Monique... but if her roots were diminished in size, consider down-sizing her pot until she recovers.
Nanna, unfortunately I think the 'Mississippi' that you gave me is one of the ones that has been struggling... I will check and see how that plant is doing... she is yours again if she recovers!
I'm always dropping plants. Lots of times right after I worked hard to trans-plant them and I get tired and drop all my hard work. :(
Diane I can send you a new plant she was just a baby it's ok.
If I'm not dropping them, they're sky-diving off the shelves. Hmmm... little plant parachutes... I feel an invention coming on...
Dropped that poor chimera of mine right on it's little noggin.
No worry I will send a new one ! And you can pretend you healed her :))
i am just glad i am not the only one who has dropped poor plants. in my case my leaves have taken a dump in the floor a few times. kaylee (4yr. old) was helping me carry little leaves in cups to water and i just got finished telling her be careful not to drop them and....i dumped one all over the floor! she said mama you made a mess!!!!
kelly
Too funny!
oh my yes I have dumped so many plants and leaves.
I haven't dropped any just lately, but have certainly knocked over a bunch, which makes just a little bit less mess. Sure hope you are able to save Monique!
Sharon
Oh geesh...you scared me.....I wondered who Monique was (a pet?) and how on earth a fall from the counter could tear off (ewww) her arms and legs?!
Hope she recovers for you, and glad it wasn't *you* or a pet that spent time in 'Emergency'!!
She isn't as scared as she was. I think she may make it if she rest enough.
I was real scared too I thought it was a cat or dog. then I read it again. Thought no this has to be her plant .
I am so dumb I was thinking it was a child, then I got to the part where you said, "She tore off her arms and legs...." and I thought, hmm now that's a kid who needs to put down her crack pipe! LOL- no I read that and said, "WHAT?!...uh...oh, duh...." It was funny though. Good luck w/ the patient.
I'll rolling on the floor!!!!
Diane if she is not going to make I can stick one into the mail ASP no problem love to . Please let me know . She had been one of my favorite's with her pretty fantasy flowers and always blooming ! Even when a yound baby she has flowers and when she grows up great big bouquets !
Allison
PS this thread was cute and funny.
Just re-read this thread! LOL Glad to hear the patient may make it.
Gotcha
I did the same thing. I thought it was a person or an animal. I was thinking, what a horrible fall for its arms and legs to come off. Then I re-read it and realized that it was a plant and was thinking that I was the only silly person to think it was not a plant. LOL I'm glad to hear that others thought the same thing.
Jesse
Nanna glad you liked it, :-)
I am just like everyone else - actually, I'm glad that I'm not the only one, 'cause I was feeling pretty silly!!
I had a thought of "how high is that counter, to do THAT?" and then felt very silly when I read the rest, so glad to hear I wasn't the only one...:)
