we live in coastal NC, zone 8a. there is a very tough and invasive vine that has killed some of the old shrubs here. (we bought an old, old house with a terribly neglected and overgrown yard.) it has a deep orange flower very like the trumpet vine, extremely nasty thorns and odd-shaped leaves. it puts out underground runners, like the briar in the mountains. anyone know what this is, or better yet, how to get rid of it permanently?
what is this vine?
