The May issue of "Horticulture" mag shows a stunning yellow flower called Gossypium harknessii or San Marcos hibiscus in their Southwest section. They also mention they could not find any sources for this beauty. It's native range is in Baja California. It is in the cotton family, salt and heat tolerant; these characteristics also fit here in my climate. Anybody grow this one? I would love to get my hands on one, even a cutting. a

You might try posting this on another forum--most of the discussion here relates to plants from the genus Hibiscus, so you may have better luck finding someone who has the plant if you post somewhere else, such as the regional forums like California or Southwest which are closer to where this plant naturally grows. You might also want to check on whether it likes humidity and summer rainfall--if it was being featured as a plant for the Southwest then it may not do well unless it has dry conditions in the summer.
