What is this?

I'm cleaning out my pond today and I've pulled up a potted plant. It looks like the plant is dead, but below is a picture of the root system, with little light tan colored "bulbs" attached. I'm pretty sure they are part of the root system, but not 100% sure. Have y'all seen anything like this before? If so, what's the name of the plant? And does it mean mine is still alive altho I see no leaf growth.

Or are these "bulbs" actually eggs of something. They're firmly attached to the roots. They look familiar, so I really think they're part of the plant, but what plant? Any ideas?

Still haven't found out. I'm pretty sure it's part of a plant, but so far the plant is still sleeping. And I honestly can't remember what it looked like last year.

I have started my own nursery as a matter of fact. I'm not getting rich yet, but at least this hobby is paying for itself. You should also be starting your own nursery. You have some of the biggest best plants I've ever seen. Didn't you have a Kansas canna? It's on my wish list you know.

Oooooh, I have lots of cannas I bet you don't have. Do you have orange blush, or a cream colored canna? I KNOW you don't have Crystal Pink. It's a new one my neighbor is introducing this year. And guess who has it! ME! Do you have Red Wine or Spitfire? We may have to talk another trade.

My biggest collection now is daylilies--450 named ones in my gardens. And yes, I've overtaken half of my brother's yard. He loves it. In fact, he just sprayed Roundup on the rest so I can plant it too!

Do you still have the greenhouse parrot? Dmail me and tell me what you've been up to and what you're collecting these days. Chances are I just may have something to fuel the fire. LOL
