I have a blush Luna Hardy Hibiscus I got from Lowes last year Loved the plant! I was happy to see some action going on with it in the last few days but shocked also!! Does it not use any of the stems from last year??? It seems all the new growth is coming up out of the ground on its own.....and the stems that I had cut back quite a bit are just that, plain stems still. Am I suppose to cut those all the way back to the ground? Will any new growth sprout off of these??
Do I prune the entire thing???
i did a litle bit of pruning for shaping. the "old" branches will eventually get green coming out of them, but it sure seems like green comes first from new growth. disconcerting, isn't it? It's all I can do not to get rid of the ugly branches, but don't 'cause they do get leaves eventually
Thanks Vossner...Some of them look so brittle and dead...I was just wondering what the point was of them growing so big and stong each year just to die. I am glad to hear they will come back! I will just let them be and see what they do :)
