Beautiful hosta! I have a new area I'm planning to put some in and can hardly wait. Hope they grow up as well as yours!

That is really lovely, good job.

Boy, that is a good looking hosta! They just melt down here. Thanks for letting me enjoy it vicariously.

ditto what maggiemoo said. The only one that has popped up for me is S&S, I am not holding my breath on other varieties. Hostas have officially broken my heart, now trying to forget my sorrow with kaempfarias gingers, which are shaped like hostas and like houston humid weather.

Thanks, all! Nery, I have looked for those gingers here and never find them!

I have some kaempferias, hold my breath every year, wondering if they will come back. They really like it to be good and warm before they show up - in my garden, and at Arbor Gate (where I got them.) I'm always asking about them, because I'd like to have more, and Beverly keeps saying, "Not yet, when it gets warmer." By the time they come in, I've usually blown my money on other things (bet no one else does that, lol.)

They looked their very best in a container the first year I had them. I think I'm not watering them enough in the ground, will try to do better this year.

These are gilbertii.

That is just beautiful, Maggiemoo! I don't think they would be a perennial in my area though, do you?

I don't know, I think they just need to be mulched in the winter, I think they are hardy to zone 8 (I sit on the line between 8b and 9a, claim 9a because summer heat is more an issue for me than winter cold.) The trick down here (when we're having normal amnts of rainfall) is for them to not sit in water and rot over winter.

Well, I could always put them in a container and bring in when we have cold weather.
