I'm curious - from what I've read, they are supposed to be great bloomers, but so far, I've got two purples (Orion and Bristol's Bluebird) with several blooms each, and more bloom stalks on their way, but my "Crystal Ice" only has one flower all on its lonesome!
What's your experience with "Crystal" streps?
Yes they say Crystal series is supose to bloom wako lol I have one Crystal Dawn.
One I've taken at least 6 or more leaves off to grow babies to share with others ! You need leaves to bloom . No crowns with Streptocarpus plants. Plus you need new foliage growth.
Mine took a long time from time I bought it. They don't sell cheap either. But I am thinking maybe they have to be a good mature size before blooming ?
I have read on other groups their plants don't bloom either.
Once mine did bloom I always have a couple bloom stalks. I am also thinking mine does not get much light
it sits on a table under windows but about 3-5 feet away. So this might be another reason I don't have tons of flowers ? Like when I had Falling Stars ( gave to my sister) it would always have dozens of flowers.
The leaves on mine are like Gaitors Tail Strep. One of the first ones I grew . I really do like mine.
It may not be too exciting but she is elegant yet simple, different and I Love her !

Hijacking my own thread, my favourite AV noid, the edge on the 2" blooms seem to get more pronounced with age, is this possible?
Yes its' possible for new blooms to get more pronounced with age mine do it all the time ! Your Crystal Ice is real pretty. When mine first starting blooming in had only one flower, then three and six...It changes. Their all different. . I thought mine was never going to bloom. But then again I took so many leaves off. So now their growing new ones and blooming more.
I think Christmas Morning had 8 nice flowers this morning ! Years ago my first Strep Cherry Pie would get 18 or more flowers all around the plant and they lasted for months :)) and it only had two very large leaves.
I guess their all different.
