My Order from Violet Barn came today . I'm not a one hundred percent happy camper. It's been a couple years sense I ordered not I remeber why. But I wanted a plant my Secret Pal would like so I thought I'd buy 4-5 to get my $12.00 shipping worth or I would have not been ordering.
They shipped on the 10 th, no gaurentee unti the 16th but I'll be calling anyways.

This is what I got o my $72.50
I thought sense years ago they always put my pots in the same box for $2.00 and he llimites you to 40 of each so I ordered 80 pots and 6 6 inch hanging which I have before.
I ordred 6 tiny tiiny plants and shipping was $20.00
It said $7.00 something on the box for shipping the plants.Ten I guess they decided to send my pots standard mail for $8.00 7-10 days .
Tis plant name is Ma's Melody Girl
I wanted real bad. Ma's only girl. Is standard African violet plant for $5.00.
Well it's foliage was not healthy 2 leaves off others cracking just came off the sand oh I mean soil was weir too. no roots.
************* I Nanna I read what he puts on his blue sheet he never sent this out before. about in 6 months after the date on the pot or when it blooms. That's funny joke. lol Then right under neath where he says this he says For all plants NEVER ( and he underlines NEVER) use pots significantly larger than their root system-this can lead to overwatering and root-rot.
His plants are so small I can't imagine a standard needed a four inch pot in six months. lol I feel you should be able to buy a standard plant from a Vendor and have it bloom by six months also.
I could just cry :((

THIS plant I felt I would really enjoy as I like Mosaic foliage. It's the only Mosaic foliage plant Rob's has.

But if it Sports pink foliage all he time I don't care what color the flowers are.
Allison, sorry you were not pleased with everything. It is always so exciting waiting for a package and being disappointed when you get it. That plant does look pretty scuzzy. Even I could do that. : )
The minis do look nice, though. Scrumptious is really cute in the pictures on Rob's site. Hope it blooms for you!! I was thinking about ordering it.
I plan in calling them and if they don't send me a new one I'm going to DAVe's Garden WATCH

Sorry you were not pleased , Allison. Each of the plants that I have received from Rob have been small but they have grown quickly for me, except Raspberry Rampage. She took awhile but is doing fine now. He was the first vendor I purchased from so didn't know what to expect. I have only purchased leaves from the other vendors.
The last shipment I received from Rob was in October. I received vintage plants and leaves were broken. Ohio Beautiful, Happy Harold, and Sunny Salmon. Ohio Beautiful is blooming and the other two are in full bud. Will probably bloom next week.
I Traveled to Violet Gallery in person so I got to choose the plants I wanted. I'm sure Rob will work with you. He has always returned my emails and given me suggestions and has been very helpful.
The back of my sheet says "safe delivery is guaranteed on all orders. Should your plants arrive dead or heavily damaged, let us know. and we will credit, replace or refund you for them."
I always expect minor damage, but your Ma Melody Girl look heavily damaged. I am sure he will keep his word.

Ma Melody Girl was not damaged just not healthy and too small to even be taken from Mom . I'm going to call him later after my Nurse comes and leaves.
On the paper now says only express mail is guaranteed on winter orders and when I called before I placed the order and they told me April 16 th. first day Spring order deleivery date but there was a plant I wanted for secret swap.
So we will see what we can do. Lorry has a Ma Melody Girl. for me. So maybe I'll have them send me a mini in replacement as those they seem to send in better condition nice size.

Ok good news. I called and talked with Rob ! He said they could credit my account ( violet barn) toward future order. Or credit my visa . But I told him I did not know he sold the leaf suports and I really needed a couple for some large plant I have. So I ordered three of them one for a 4 inch pot and 2 for 5-6 inch pots. They were cheap less than $3.00 each. But shipping is $8.00 yikes. So I ordered 40 more 2.50 round white pots, and 40 2.50 inch white sqaure pots as their .15 cents each but at least I could put them into the box and get my money's worth for the $8.00 shipping. And they won't let you buy more than 40 of one size pot and 140 total of other sizes together.
I had ordered 40 of each 80 pots total just beacasue I thought they could go in with plants . But no they are coming separte for $ 8.00 .. So now I paid $16.00 shipping for 160 pots and 4 plant rings. lol
They will deduvct the price of my dead plant.
Oh well I do need the rings. I would never have ordered pots as I get them cheap from other places and can get thousands just about shipped for $10.00 but at least I got credit for the plant, he was real kind, and I am getting my leaf suports.
I have two plants that have got so hugh they need suports bad. One my Russian /Sport one. WOW it's going to go into a 5 inch azela pot soon it growing like a weed and all new buds opening and old ones still blooming. WOW I am in love with it .

Yes me too. I hate having to let someone know the plant is dead. he seems to know it was too small. I don't think he had any more of her either. But that's Ok Lorry is getting me one.
Good. I am glad he was nice. And Lorry is getting you a plant. That is good, too. : ) How about a picture of your Russian/sport AV this week? Or have you already posted one? You have so many it is hard to keep track. : ) I haven't met anyone on here or at an AV show or corresponded with anyone that has not been nice. Must be some kind of genetic nice/AV thing. : )
Allison I love Scrumptious and Zippity Doo! They are both wonderful. Sorry things didn't start out the way they should have but it does sound like things turned out alright in the end.
