Old veggie gardner turned to shade gardening...

Mohnton, PA(Zone 6a)

After scanning through "Dave's Garden", I find myself eager to join in the friendly atmosphere. I'm a West Virginian transplanted to Pennsylvania, and the rich moist soil I took for granted has now been replaced with "sandy loam", or so my husband calls it. I'm amazed anything grows here at all!! Moaning and groaning, I will make this land flourish, though I will need assistance. I look forward to the adventure!

Thanks for the great welcome. I'll be asking some questions regarding my Asiatic Lilies, and also have an odd piece of news to report. I believe my new rhodies are confused. After blooming once this year, two have new buds now. Is this normal for the first year? Don't get me wrong, the two are not loaded with buds, just a few on each plant.

Boy, am I glad you guys are here!!
