Crocus collection

St. John's, NL(Zone 5b)

Better late than never, the crocus season has finally started in Newfoundland, Canada. For those in the south and pacific you can relive the crocuses from a month or 2 ago. This is Crocus etruscus.

Todd, those Cream Beauty, are they very small and extra early?
They look a lot like my earliest ones that I don't know the name of.
All very pretty.

Todd~

It's so nice to see pictures of yours because mine are long gone! I especially like 'Cream Beauty' and seiberi 'Tricolor'.

Lots more should be open in the next day or two....I'll add to my collection pics as they do. I have a real love of crocus since they are the first to bloom in my garden.

Here is one of my own hybrid seedlings...some sort of Crocus chrysanthus but not like any cultivars I've seen on the market.

Oh, wow! You have the most beautiful flowers from bulbs, and your pictures are always stunning. Thanks for sharing. I'm watching this thread just so I can come back and admire more.

Todd these are all lovely - at last some spring bulbs! I love that Tricolor and Ladykiller looks very much like my Minimus. Thanks for the crocus treat.

I TOLD my DH to plant in clumps but no. So we have little specimen plantings, or more likely, widely spaced rows of 2 or 3 or 4 crocuses, dwarf iris, probably daffs etc. here and there in the bare spots in the lawn. Maybe in 5-6 years they will have multiplied/naturalized as well as Todd's gorgeous ones.
