Allison, How is your Optimara Annabelle doing? I had to clip all the flowers. They had powdery mildew. I think it was because the shipment came too soon and the plants got cold. I lost about half the blooms because they were black when they arrived.
Mine is just beginning to bud again. How about yours?
Checking on Annabelle
Mine bloomed and bloomed and never stopped. I put down a half dozen or so leaves down. She had been planted in a 4 inch azeal pot but over filled it. So I took all the blooms and buds off and potted her in a 5 inch azela pot. She is growing terrific. Her foliage is light and thins type do you think ? But she is very shiney and healthy ( she has been sprayed with neem oil a few times also though ! She is starting to bud up again. I just adore her :))

LOL..I just placed the order yesterday..but when they get here definitely. Though she said she was not sure she would not have to double up on some of the minis. I said that is fine since I could use them for my bunny trade :)
I found out something disturbing though...Optimara is downsizing their varieties. She also said they are discontinuing all variegated varieties except for modesty! (good thing we got tradition when we did Allison!)
I asked her if she still has leaves..and if she does..I am going to order the other 6 I dont' have in leaves and pray. I would hate to not be able to get them any longer.

Tina had one. Laurie ordered it also. She had other Optimara leaves to forget which ones now I will have look.
Oh yes before I new about Tradition I ordered a leaf and Laurie ordered one she is getting her's as she put her order in first and Tina got a lot of orders. So for me she was out .

Tina owns Bloomlovers ! You must of missed my posting. She had closed her Business for two years to spend more time with her kids. And just started selling again ! She was the first person I ever bought leaves from ! I bought like a hundred leaves !

I have some other girl leaves coming soon too so I (of course) will share babies as soon as I can. i'm getting pretty good at this leaf thing (a little too good, now what do I do with all these babies! I know, a bingo or another contest soon!)

Cool ! Sometimes it's hard to get a plant you bought from a Nursery in full bloom to bloom again. These plants have been grown in control enviroments forced to bloom heavy . I repotted mine in a 5 inch azeala pot and have put down about 5-6 leaves she looks great ,growing great and I noticed under her foliage are bloom stems each with clusters od buds ! So I'm hoping for a lot of May Bells :))
I repotted mine as well. Didn't loose any leaves as yet. It was so full and beautiful that I didn't want to take any leaves from the plant yet. At the end of this bloom I will repot again and set leaves. I have so many leaves down right now.
Leaves that you sent that have eared are Paumsnak and Black Majic. No sure if you sent black majic but I think you did. These were the leaves from the contest. Seems to me they eared very quickly. All the others I set the middle of March have rooted well but are not earing as yet. I probablly set them too deep. Oh well, they will have a good root system when they do ear. Thanks again for the leaves and the plants.
Shai ig cwgsie Trail is in bud and will soon bloom. Is that the right spelling? I will have to look at my D-mail. The girl leaves look like little frill-ended trumpets. Looks like the bloom will be lavendar with pink or white. I'll take a picture when the bloom opens. The King is setting buds again and several others have buds. Hope our weather warms soon. I am sure with a little more warmth all the plants will bloom. the plant room stays at about 70 during the day and 65 at night. Soon I'll be complaining because it is too warm. Oh, well. C'est la vie!!!

Well Annabelle did not lose leaves when I first got her sometime within a few weeks I put down 4 leaves. As she is exclusive and you can only buy leaves of her for $8.00 a set I'll have plants to share.
Then when I trans-planted her I put down a couple more leaves. But she is real full and rows of nice leaves and more keep growing. When I take leaves off it's only natural she get scared and she grows more faster. Also this was the ( couple weeks ago ) second time I re-potted her. First I just re-potted her into a new 4 inch pot with lighter soil, but her root system was large. So then later on I put her into a 5 inch azela pot and she has been very happy. When I did this I double wick her, and took off all flowers and buds this way I want them to all come in again together fresh new. They look like a bunch of blueberries under her skirt. I am so Happy I got her :))

Do you know she is really Vintage or close to. I seen her in an old 1985 Gesneraind Jouranl same name hybridizer info just she has been around for awhile and they never registered her. Now she was registered. I think it gets confusing as they use the registration date to see how old. Many AV's come out a year or two before they are registered.
She is also the Sport of ; Ramblin' Lassie (9022) 03/23/2001 (S. Sanders/R. Brenton) Semidouble blue-lavender star. Variegated medium green and white girl foliage. Semiminiature trailer
So I wonder about this? Ramblin Lassie is older too they just registered them both on the same date.
I'm also noticing that Shiawasee Trail will bloom all blue or blue and white flowers with blue flowers on the same plant !
History of Av's is interesting to me.
