Double Yellow Hibiscus

Jonesboro, GA

I bought a double yellow hibiscus in Gatlinburg, TN last spring called "Peggy Hendry". I really enjoyed it in our yard last year and would like to include the same hibiscus this year. However, I live in Georgia and the trip to Gatlinburg is rather lenghty and I cannot guarantee that they will have the same hibiscus this year. Does anyone know where I can purchase one in a decent size (1 gallon)? Also, a good substitute would be "Heaven Scent" or "Mrs. James Hendry", but I also need help finding somewhere to purchase any of these. Can anyone help?

what happened to the one you bought last year? is it dead?

Yes. because my house only allows for average to low light conditions, I have trouble winterizing any plant that requires full sun. I was not able to save this hibiscus this past winter.

If you don't have any luck finding one/them, I have Full Moon (double yellow) rooted in four inch pots right now. I would be happy to trade with you.

If you don't have any luck with the large one, I got a small one from Logee's last year and I'm pretty sure they still offer it. Their plants are in very small pots when you buy them (2.5" or 4"), but this one grew pretty fast. You could also try having one of your local nurseries order it for you.

Thanks for the tip on Logee's. I called their customer service and ordered one today. They are now selling their hibiscus in 4" pots only.
