Sooooo Beautiful! I love butterflies. Don't know the actual spelling but pappion might be close. French for butterfly. It's pronounced pa (short a) pee - the end is a nasal sound pronounced by saying "own" but leaving the "n" sound off.
Pa pee own
Love that word.
nanna....me too...it's a musical word...
Nanna, I was skimming the threads this morning and wondered what kind of secret code Pa pee own was. Thought I was really missing something. Then I started reading back up the thread. ha ha. Have a good day!!!!
oh how pretty! i have never seen anything like them! i would love to see something like that in my garden :) i don't know a lot about butterflies but just love them! i have to tell my kitties no because i have seen both Windy and Breezy last week trying to capture the big yellow and black ones that are everywhere here. i can't stand to see them chasing them and both times last week they almost had them until i yelled NO BREEZY! NO WINDY! they catch field mice outside all the time and that i am proud of because i have never had one get inside but leave the beautiful butterflies alone.
thanks for sharing your pictures with all of us. they really are amazing!
