Clerodendrum minahassae propagation

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I have a large C. minahassae that accidentally got the top broken out yesterday. I want to attempt to root the pieces that were broken. Do I root hardwood or the new green softwood? I cut the hardwood into piecies with the new green growth still attached, dipped in rooting hormone and stuck in the propagating box with sphagnum moss. These are notoriously hard to root.

I have had better luck with the green cuttings.

OK, I can go remove them from the hardwood. Thanks.
