Favorite No-Brainer vine

San Diego, CA(Zone 10b)

Hi, I'm looking for suggestions for a great no-brainer vine to put on a south facing wall. I'm leaning towards a passion flower, but it would be nice to have something that didn't get eaten alive by cats. A little scent would be nice too! What are your favorites???

I am a simple man and love Hops. You can get different colors (yellow, gold, green) and they grow well you probably would need a support to have them climb. But I love the odor of hops. PS my cats hate it and stay away.

Hello.

Such a perfect spot for a Passiflora! Another thought would be Aristolochia elegans for interesting flowers and easy care.

Good luck.

Good suggestions, I'll check them out. The passi is a great vine though, and it will be hard to find a rival. The one pictured died when I overdosed it on cat killer. If I do the passi again I'll just pick them off by hand, but it's laborious. Does anyone have other favorites?

I live in zone 8b in the southwest corner of BC, Canada, and the idea of a hops(particularly the Golden one, with, some ornamental Morning Glories, running through it, an electric blue or burgundy, would make a unique combo.....just a suggestion! Elaine

That sounds pretty cool. How are the morning glories for bugs?

Thanks, Christina :)

PS: Just went on vacation to Canada - it's GORGEOUS!!!
