O/T O/T O/T Girls please, control yourselves!!!!!
Oh my how sweet ! Sure is a cutie ! Did you hand raise him ?
Oh my ! How many are there ? Their so tiny. How much do they weigh ? How long do you get to babysit ?
Hi Spider !
Violet, I am just baby sitting them until Tuesday. These are tube fed as well.
WOW so cute.
Their weight ranges from 70 to 100g. There are 6 of them.
Wonderful photos!
Tube feeding... every how often, LOL? Talk about a labor of love!
When I was at Friday Harbor Labs (in Puget Sound) one summer, I hand raised a bunny... actually it was a British Hare, an imported species on the island. A couple of kids spotted the baby all by himself, and I kept an eye on it most of that first day, hoping the mother bunny would show up... but when the crows started circling, I couldn't stand it and I swooped out to rescue him. He was skinny and full of lice, but after a couple of days (& nights) of hand feeding every few hours, both conditions cleared up and he did just fine. I got so many questions about how he was doing that I started posting a daily progress report on the bulletin board in the dining hall. One of my instructors, a gruff & crusty sort, kept giving me a hard time about interfering with natural selection etc and what was this bunny doing in "his" lab building.... until I managed to get him to hold the baby "just for a second." The bunny huddled down into his hand and snuggled, and this big tough guy just melted.... it was too funny... and that was the end of the sarcastic comments, LOL!
A couple of years later, the lab director's daughter mentioned to me that there was still a hare that hung around near the lab buildings and was exceptionally tame (most of these bunnies are pretty unafraid of people, since the area is a preserve)... she said she slipped him an occasional carrot... I'll bet that was "my" Jeremy!
Awww Critter, what a lovely story!
As these are bigger (about 2 1/2 weeks old, I feed them only twice a day. Not like the squirrels that have to be fed every two hours!
They are so cute!!!!! That picture of your dog is a riot!!!!! What kind of dog is he and what is his name? So funny. : ) Mom, don't forget me...I was here first. HA HA

OHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! AHhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Too cute, I'd have trouble letting them go back to the wild, knowing full well that they should, but I am sure that I'd have become attached to them. Too cute.
April. I try very hard not to get attached. The worse are the sick ones, that you care through their sickness and worry about. Those are the hardest to let go. This work has lots of heartache.
I am happy Mallory likes them. I am thinking of making a thread with updates and photos of my animals so you can all see how they change and grow.
Oh I would really enjoy that !
Spidie that's a great idea! Hope you do it.
OK, I will take some piccies tomorrow.
Fabulous! I'd love to follow a thread about your rehab/rescue critters! You might want to post it over on the Wildlife forum so more folks can join the fun.... just be sure to post a link here for us! :-)
What sweeties! Keep up the good work!
:) Donna
