Golden Groundsel, Packera obovata, is a Native evergreen goundcover that stays lovely all year, but blooms heavily early in the Spring. http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/63577/index.html

The Lovely but little known, Golden Grounsel.
Love it Josephine! Looks like its full enough at the base when not blooming to "fend" off the nutgrass. A real "plus" in my book!

Thank you Debbie, we are growing a lot of this plant at the Wildscape greenhouse, triyng to make people aware of it, we hope it will become very popular.

Sounds like good "road trip" for early summer! Are they open to the public?
Full sun, shade??? Some minds just have to know!... just a good looking blooming carpet.
Debbie, yes, the Wildscape is open to the public and there is no charge.
If you come up, be sure to let me know and I will be your guide.
Mitch, they do well sun or shade, and they bloom for about a month, then it is just the pretty green leaves.
What a great plant, it is great what stunning natives we have here I wish more places offered them!
So someone puts them in full sun? I have mine in dappled shade or partial sun. They are almost finished blooming here.
