I have various plants for trade including nice sized Trigona 'red' cuttings. Here is an ebay listing for this plant - for ref. purposes. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7757017263&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.com%3A80%2Fsearch%2Fsearch.dll%3Ffrom%3DR40%26satitle%3D7757017263%26fvi%3D1
Wanted: Chilean Turquoise Blue Bromeliad
And if anyone is able to ID that plant listed - I can't find it here at Dave's under it's listed Ebay name...grrrr!
Jess,
Thank you!
Whoever wrote the listing wrote: "Oh, and a quick note of caution: I've seen some other Bromeliads being sold as this, when they're NOT this, but are rather another one called "alpestris". I'll be happy to e-mail you a photo showing the REAL Chilean Turquoise Blue Bromeliad plant next to the alpestris "unwitting impostor" plant (Yup, I was one of the ones who didn't know any better initially and I did buy the impostor before I found "The Real McCoy" here"
Seeds sometimes are kind to me...sometimes not...what has your experiece been with the Puya berteroniana? Does it seem easy to grow?
Chantell
I actually started a few of the seeds a month or two ago and had an excellent germination rate. Then went out of town and the person watching the house forgot to water the seedlings, so they croaked. So, I'll be starting seeds, too, again. A well draining mix, heat and light, and they should germinate okay.
Didn't you post awhile back for cold hardy succulents and cacti? I live in the desert, zone 7 and I could probably send a few things your way if you are interested still. D-mail me and we'll work out a trade.
