A friend of mine has this plant and I have complimented it and coveted it so often that she finally gave me the go ahead to get some cuttings, but I haven't found the right moment to prune her plant for her.

Send me a D-mail and I'll keep it open and send you a rooted cutting once I get one, if no one else comes up with one for you. She lives about 30 miles south of me and I only get down her way about once a month, but I will go to the next visit with pruning shears in hand!

I have chinese lantern! They have not come up yet. When they do I would be glad to mail you some. They are so cool. I always cut them and use them a deco in a vase. I dry them first.
I do count on them comming back so if you can hang on a bit. Things are finally just sprouting. I have not seen any signs of the laterns yet. I did not know you could root them. I grew mine from seed.

Definitly! no other hibiscus as ever had such attracting power over me LOL! Is it a good bloomer? If not i guess I might find vigourous rootstock and try to graft it.

Grows very tall and spindly, sprawling habit. small flowers, and a definate seasonal bloomer here.I only keep it around for hybridizing.Takes up a lot of room.

Kyle, that one you sent me as a rooted cutting a long time ago is HUGE. I keep cutting it back. Even here it doesn't bloom that often. I'd like to dig it up and put a pretty one in its spot.

Montreal, QC(Zone 4b)

Well, that is maybe the reason why it is so difficult to find, seasonality and scarce blooming. I'll give it a try anyway... just in case LOL!

Headland, AL(Zone 8a)

Now that is a plant after my own heart! I have never seen that before, But I really like the way it looks...not to mention the name. Gotta admiare plant that calls 'em as it sees them...schizopetalus...LOL! Now I have to have one, too!
