Spring Starflower 'Wisley Blue'
Ipheion uniflorum

In full bloom 30th March 06. Planted 7 years ago, squirrels dinner 2 years later in cold winter. Reappeared slowly, suddenly took off!

What a delight!

Hi kniphofia, they are rather sweet, and have a light, sweet scent too. Trouble is you have to get on your knees to smell them! They remind me of the sort of plant you would come across whilst walking through woodlands.....simple and natural.

Nice close up shot Janet! =)

Great shot Janet!! You have 10 green thumbs. I have one or two but tend to neglect my plants. lol.

They are difficult to shoot! With sun on them they overexpose easily.

Oh dear pepper, the mental image of me with 10 thumbs! I'm neglecting putting pics in PF, too busy with other things.

Hey at least you have pics to put in here!! I won't have any til spring time hits and even then I have to remember the names of some of them!! Impossible!! LOL

Ooooh I have way too many pics, that's part of the trouble! You will have to practise remembering the names, they eventually sink in. Until you get plant overload that is!

Here's my problem. I work at a botanical garden. I get free plants all the time. I have no where to put them but I get them anyways. lol. They come with names and I write them down and promptly lose them. The only way to get names is to wait til spring and take pics to work, where after awhile I will forget them again. LOL. It's useless with me.

Free plants, you are so lucky! Do you use plastic labels with indelible ink, even if you shove them well into the ground they will survive for a long time.

That's another problem. LOL. I forget to do even that!!! I get caught up in the moment.
