Would anyone like to share their daffodil pics to brighten up this dreary day for us?! I hope so, I need a lift! And I love 'em so waving in the wind as they are today, for sure! (-:
Wordsworth's Poem:
The Daffodils
I wandered lonely as a Cloud
That floats on high o'er Vales and Hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

A few from our garden--'tete a tete's' and 'jack snipe' and 'jet fires'
It's Daffodil Time! Let's share some pics?!
Thanks for sharing the photos and one of my all time favorite poems! I've been dancing with the daffodils all week here... must take & post some photos!
I've been eyeing "Woodstock" hyacinths for a couple of years in the catalogs.... saw some in person at the Philly Flower Show this year, and they went rocketing up to the top of my wish list, along with the 'Rip van Winkle' daffs that my mom fell in love with.
"The Daffodil Principle"
This is a story I liked found at www.inspirationpeak.com
It tells about a woman in Running Springs, CA who planted a whole hillside of daffodils...gave me an idea!
Sharon
sharon-- checked out the Daffodil link--what a lovely story and inspiration! And of course the challenge can be applied to all kinds of things in life...now to get started!
critter--I love the Woodstock hyacinths. They are a relatively new introduction (1996, I think) and available at retail for just the past few years. I am going to order a lot more, although i think I purchased these at HD or Lowes and they are very nice. I saw them in the park planted with a violet blue hyacinth and daffs and it was striking.
Let's see your pics?! Please!

This is a wonderful place to visit if you are near Amador County Ca. in April. We live about 3 miles from here, love visiting every year.
Jacquie
latebloomer, daff names, please
T, I love woodstock hyacinth and pineapple prince daff.
I do hope you can provide the name of the one under "elegant and poised." That looks like a great daffodil for shows - totally clean color and excellent form!
Ray
latebloomer! what a happy spring walkway! so pretty!
dguimo--Thanks for the Amador County link...a famous place--have been through there several times (on gold country field trips) but never in April to my regret!
sorry, rrog-- no name on those lovelies. I'll have to do more research.
Our Midwestern Daffodil Show is this Saturday and Sunday at the Zoological and Botanical gardens. I would love to be able to enter something...just for the fun of it.
I joined the Daff Society http://daffodilusa.org/ just last week and really know nothing about the flowers (except that I love them. and what I've learned on DG).
Any more pics? I hope so...
Gorgeous pictures, Becky! I especially like 'Jetfire'. I'm so glad I ordered that one for this Fall.
The pictures are so pretty! decolady--I'm happy you like Wordsworth's poem too. And I love your heirloom daff pics.
And I am always interested in good combination plants for the daffs...and of course, your little pooch is quite the appropriate garden ornament for spring bulbs, g in g.
I visited the Midwest Regional Daffodil Show today at the Cincinnati Zoological and Botanical Gardens. A beautiful day to be out enjoying springtime. The zoo has a million bulbs blooming this month and so it was quite a gay sight!
I had the pleasure of meeting the president of the American Daffodil Society who happens to live in Cincinnati----I knew of her from her columns about Daffodils on the Suite 101 site
http://www.suite101.com/articles.cfm/daffodils
very good articles if you want to learn more.
And some prize winners from the daff show...
