Can I get a second flush from Regal Lily?

Bessemer City, NC(Zone 7b)

I planted up a L. regale that had sprouted in the package and it now has buds. Or should I say, it is showing one bud atop each of it's two stems.

Since it's blooming so early, if I cut it back slightly after it blooms, can I expect more sprouts to come up and bloom later this season?

No I don't think lilies will re-bloom this way.

If you cut the stem, you won't get any blooms. Just plant it as soon as you can and let nature take its course. While it may not be the greatest this year, it should behave normally next year.

I have heard of re-blooming occuring in Orienpets, and have only seen it once (that I barely remember). Does anyone know about this (reblooming) within the Lilium genus at all?

I've seen L.longiflorum rebloom. After easter I picked them out of the garbage of the cemetary, and 2 out of 5 bloomed again that summer.

Silk Road can set secondary buds, but I don't know why. Might be something interesting to research (next winter!).

That's the style, Neal.
