Some of those double japonica sell for hundreds of dollars! Lovely but not worth that much. I'm a bit of a purist...I prefer the classic single forms. That wild one is as lovely as any!

Oh I love hepatica. I've killed a few but need to try again. Must not have been the right spot.
(My property is quite steeply sloped facing south so its hard to find a nice shady spot. I have
one shade garden and the hepatica did not survive a year there). try try again as they say.
