Stickies for the Orchid Cactus forum?

Everson, WA(Zone 8a)

I am pretty new at Epis and have not yet succeeded in getting mine to flower (hoping this will be the year). I think it would be a good idea to have a couple of stickies at the top of the forum. One could include cultivation information and one could explain the difference between Epis, Christmas cactus, Easter cactus, etc. Would some of you experienced growers be willing to put all that information together? I think it would be a big help to us newbies and wannabes. LOL

Oh NoH2O - what a brilliant idea!!! I can finally tell the epis from the Christmas cactus...but sadly that's it. I have cuttings stuck in their soil...that seem to be growing - so I haven't killed them yet...but trying to learn, learn learn....from all those here wiser then I.

Chantell, now all we have to do is convince the experts to create those stickies. LOL

Amen to that!!! :)

I for one think that's a great idea!

It appears that only us epi newbies like the suggestion. LOL

Hi Guys, there are actually several threads like this already, some of which were started by Candy and some by me. However, they are probably buried a few pages back. If you do a search, I'm sure you will find them as they are less than a year old, and some were started at the start of this forum. Once you find the ones that you want, you can either bump them up or ask Dave to make them stick. I would do a search for you, but I'm short on time right now.

OH, Please do it for us...NoH2O...it would be so helpful!!!! thx.

Clare, you are incredible. Thanks so much for gathering all that information.

My pleasure! It didn't take long to compile those. I find that Candy's threads (Happenstance) have been extremely helpful as she addresses questions such as fertilizering, repotting, and overwintering in her series threads. She also posts some lovely pictures. I learned most of what I know about epi's from her and from the links above.
