How did you do with Gun....? I want to try one, but I'm afraid I'm too hot here.

I've been doing much better this time around with Gunnera. I started it with it's feet in a black plastic pot in the pond, but as the weather heated up, I moved it to some shade, placed the pot in a scantily perforated plastic bag and put that in a larger glay pot with constant trip.
It is on the north west side of the house and under open loose leaved trees. this is my 2nd or 3rd attempt. We get some brutally hot summer days, creates lots of crispty criitters of my favorite big leaved trees and bushes. I may put it a bigger pot next year as I seemd to have found the ieal location.

Great Gunnera's Enthusiasts.

I found many others experiences are so similiar to mine with Great Gunnera. I tried these tubers planting before, either the too hot, the young leaves turned black and die. Or too wet; the tuber became mushy and be gone. I'm trying this again this year though. Not giving up YET.

Hi Lily. I have a gunnera plant, and I want to share it with DGers at the Mid-South RU in Tupelo on May 5. Every time I dig one up, it dies. I really want to share. How is yours coming?
