Texas Master Gardener Conference In College Station

The Woodlands, TX(Zone 9a)

Just wondering if there is anyone here that will be attending the state conference in May at College Station? My hubby (a new MG) and I (13 years) will be there. Antique Rose Emporium and Martha's Bloomers, here we come!!! Yuccado too! (They are two of the tours planned....) It's always great to meet other MG's and to meet MG's that are members of Dave's Gardens would be a double blast!

I sure wish I could take the course, but the classes are always during weekdays, then you have to work in the extension office for a certain number of hours, and I work. Did you go to the Montgomery County Extension office for the classes? I keep hoping that when (if) I retire...

Antique Rose Emporium and Martha's Bloomers, yes! I love them both.

I hear that Mark Bowen does some kind of talk in The Woodlands on a regular basis, sort of a homeowner's thing. Are you aware of it? Have you ever heard him? Have you ever been to The Arbor Gate in Tomball? (Sheesh, I guess this is where I say, "Inquiring minds want to know," lol.)

Someone, on the "head count " thread, mentioned that they were a MG and would be there the week before when they gave a hotel recommendation I think.

Maggiemoo,
We will HAVE to talk at RU. I am looking forward to meeting you! Will it be difficult with that many people around? I have met Mark Bowen; we have chatted several times. We tend to end up at many of the same gardening functions. MG plant sales, Arbor Day, Wildflower Festivals, etc.... A very nice guy. Yes, The Woodlands Environmental Services offers a monthly program that is very interesting and informative. Anyone can attend. Mark has participated in that too. And I absolutely LOVE The Arbor Gate in Tomball. Made a visit there just last weekend. :-)

Sheila,
I lived in Fort Worth long ago. Loved it. Thanks for the info - I'll try to find that in all of those entries...Or maybe they'll find mine first! Are you going to RU?

Oh goody!! Another Arbor Gate fan! I wouldn't be gardening today if it weren't for them, we'll have to go together or meet there some time. There's another DG'er who lives in Tomball, she'll have to join us!

I've been trying to find the information on the Environmental Services program for awhile, just can't seem to track it down. I'd be most grateful if you could point me to a website or something so I could find out the when & where.

I don't think we'll have any problem meeting at the RU. There will be plenty of people there, but we'll have plenty of time, too. I can't wait for you to meet all the wonderful people I've already met, and I'll get to meet a bunch of new people, too!

Ceejay, Yes I am coming to the RU also. I plan on spending Sat night there. That way I can meet everyone!
