I like to say in a kind way. Just like AVSA and the great Streptocarpus photo sight and more say my plants photo's are to share but NOT to be used for any Commercial use of photos, including auctions, without the without permission is prohibited.

They are my plants grown by me. Even is I send you a picture, or invite you into my home and allow you to take pictures of my plants , I am sharing them with you . They are still my plants that I am growing my property.
Even in the African violet magazines they show a plant grown by with the name, photo taken by with their name in small print.
I would kindly appreciate Photo of my plants, blooms, grown by me . All Rights Reserved.I took the copyright off so everyone could see the pictures better.

Like Dave and Terry say a picture is copyrite or plant grown even if it does not say so.
My Plant flower Photos
If I worked hard growing a plant by leaf and get beautiful flowers. My flowers are not to be used for people on ebay selling baby plants of the same plants ,let them grow them out and get pictures of their own plant . Hek my flowers of the same plant does not
even look like ones in FC nor AVSA Photos how do they know their baby will bloom like mine.
If I send you a baby and you grow it to bloom it's your plant do as you please . But please don't use my plant flowers Commercial use of photos, including auctions, without the without permission is prohibited.

Without permission of the plant owner. Even when Hospice came to my home and took pictures of me and Precios my CNA, my plants.. I had to sign all kinds of papers giving them permission to use. And they were not even being used for profit.

Oh man, I don't understand people at all. Why would someone do that? Did they get your photos that you show on DG? That is just so wrong. I'm so sorry that someone did this to you.

When I first started here I found pictures of my AVs online and used them here.
I had NO idea I was not supposed to do that and took a lot of flack for it.
So maybe the person did not know any better.
Though I would never have used them for a profit..at least not without asking first
I don't mind people enjoying them and using them but not for profit.
I guess they could not help them selves as their too tiny babies being sold on Ebay they had no pictures and my plants are so beautiful with nice big flowers. lol
How could they help themselves but to want to use them :))
If I do see any for porfit any where though I have to tell the truth I will have their auctions removed.
Allison, how did you know it was your plant? Did you see the pot it was in? What brought your attention to the matter? This never occured to me.

One time I cpoied a Description for a plant that was not on FC from a Vendor that does not sell on Ebay. and my auction was taken off. :((
I have been told by people who work for AVSA photo's are used a lot of dales and are not supose to be. A link to the picture is not even allowed if using it for sale.
I'm sorry that happened to you and to anyone else. Lots of people are lazy and greedy and just take the easy way to do things. It's such a shame.
I have a question. If I take a picture of my own AV and put it on a site, can I use what Optimara says about that plant? You know, all the details about the plant. I was going to do that but I sure do not want to get into trouble by doing that. My DH ordered First Class for me a long time ago and I have never gotten it. He says he is going to call and check tomorrow. That is why I was going to use what Optimara said. Thanks.

So they can't even use the decscription of the plant for sales? I see lots of vendors using the generic descriptions.
Yes I see lot's doing this also Lorry . I'm not sure about this ? I always use FC info for Ebay / but not the pictures as they belong to the growers.
But if you go to a vendors web sight and use their info on a plant they can have your auction pulled.
So re-word it !

Amy I always used it with never a problem but you can't use the pictures. I did not know I could not copy a Vendors info on a plant that was not in FC until my auction was taken off. I did not use their picture just the written info.
OK , info but no picture. Well, I guess I need to order FC, then. :o) I've notice a lot of eBay auctions only have a picture of the baby plant and I have to go somewhere else to look up a blooming plant. Now I know why. Thanks Allison!
