Spring blooming bulb

Santa Barbara, CA

Identification please! These bulbs bloom in Santa Barbara in late March, early April.
I have two colors, yellow and light orange. Possibly from South Africa. The plant has
only one leaf separating from the stem about 6 inches above ground and extending
about 5 feet lying on the ground. Leaf width, 1/2 inch. Flower is salverform with six
identical petals 1/2 inch wide with slightly darkened midrib on top and a light green
raised midrib on the underside. Flower has a natural spread of 2-3/8 inches. These
arise from a sheath either singly or in pairs at 3 to 4 inch intervals along the scape.
The top flower is the first to bloom. Petals arise from the ovary which is, at blooming,
3/4 inch long with a diameter of 1/8 inch. There are no sepals. The pistil arises from below the base of the petals and extends 1/2 inch above. The stigma is divided into three and perhaps again into two. No anthers are visible at this time. As far as I know, having only one leaf about five feet long, makes
this plant unique in the world of horticulture. Please reply if you have any comment! signed: Samarkand.

I believe I have identified this plant to be Moraea collina, formerly Homeria collina.
