I have read you on how to start a new plant but its not registering in my mind on how to do it.How do ya cut out the middle rib? I want to put a leaf down as insurance just like the AV's in case something happens to the plant

Jan I play is safe as anytime I cut the rib I lose the leaves. Many people do it with the best sucess . I know Lali is ! Me I use the whole leaf or half and place them in soil-less mix just like I do my leaves . I keep lightly moist and they just grow ! Simple fast and easy :))
The rib way is the hardest and most likly to rot. Did you see the pictures in Sticky with the different ways ?

One more picture. I hate seprating them. So I keep them together when growing Strep's one leaf is a plantlet with Streps ! But me mine stay together. lol So when you get a plant from me you can take it aprat if you want. lol Streps don't have crowns.
This plant is Susan. See the mom leaf on the left side hiding. It grew some more still with Mom leaf sent her to Lorry. Most sellers and people take them apart and out one leaf each ion their own pot this is cinsidered a Strep plantlet.

I use Method one the whole leaf.
Or the leaf in 2-3 inch peices. But whole leaf gives me enough plants and is safe and easy.

I started a photo tutorial on how I did mine. I started my leaves in Jan. and just divided them on Monday or Tuesday.

The roots had gotten so matted that I couldn't leave them in the perlite any longer. All the babies went into 2" pots.
I actually only harvested half of one leaf for alll these babies.
