Oh cool! I'll tell ya what, Awanda....just send your hoya to me - - I'll take care of it while you're gone. And I promise to take pictures if it opens during that time! ;0)

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9a)

Betsy what you said sounds so familiar, where have I heard it before:-)???? Ya know if I wasn't for the cold weather you're having I would probably do it, but I don't want my hoya to go into shock. Now if you'd like to fly in and hoya-sit for me, on second thought that's not a good idea, my greenhouse would be empty when we returned:-).

Blessings,
Awanda

Prescott, AZ

Is the greenhouse going to be locked??? Nows my chance !!! What couple of days exactly are you going to be gone? She looks very close to opening, and should still be blooming when you get back. Thats if the plant is still there!!!! LOL Be sure and take a picture... Please. Verticillata is one of my favorites.

Tami

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9a)

Tami the greenhouse will not only be locked, but wired and guarded:-) and I can't remember which days we'll be gone:-). I'll be sure to take a picture for you:-).

Sorry to still your thread Awanda, but I went to close the curtain tonight and H. verticillata opened up. Must have been the sunshine we received today. Yippee.....

Nice photo! Does it have a scent?

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

Mine does.

Not to pop your bubbles but I have a variegated verticillata with 9 umbels on it, growing on a hoop and another teeny one with two leaves...about to make an umbel. They sure are a happy plant and I love the smell.

Carol

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9a)

Well Ms Carol you live in the Garden of Eden so that's to be expected:-). Tami and I live pretty much in the desert so our blooming hoyas are a wonderful gift to us. No bubbles popped:-).

Just to be impartial. I don't care who's hoya's need babysitting. I am willing to come to Tami's, Carol's, or Awanda's. Just let me know the dates and I am willing to help out ladies. I don't even have a verticulla, he, he, he...
Heather

Prescott, AZ

On closer sniffspection this hoya smells neither of citrus or jasmine. I still haven't pinpointed it yet. Maybe a little of lacunosa but not as strong. What do you think Carol.

Oh good a babysitter. Heather I will keep that in mind. Will you watch the dog and tortoise too? Payment in verticillata !!!!! I just plan on being out of town a couple of days next week ;)

TUCSON, AZ(Zone 9a)

Hey Awanda
I will be glad to babysit. And babysit and babysit. You can stay in Vegas just come and visit . he he he :))))))))

Los Angeles, CA(Zone 9a)

Tami, I would insist on a dog and a tortise. That would be in my babysitting contract, lol!!

Prescott, AZ

Binky, let me know what couple of days she is going to be gone. I have to schedule Heather for babysitting !!!

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9a)

Oh what wonderful hoya buddies I have! As much as I appreciate everyone's willingness to hoya-sit, I just can't let you do it. My neighbor and HER DOG have volunteered to watch my hoyas.

Blessings,
Awanda

Oh great the neighbor has a dog... Hmmm, will have to rethink my strategy.

TUCSON, AZ(Zone 9a)

OH Gee Awanda , your no fun!! You let your neighbor and the dog over us LOL LOL And what do you think TamiF ?? :))))))))))

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

Hey...the neighbours' dog is sacred!!! But...I think that if you stormed the castle.....?

Prescott, AZ

Binky, Im hurt way down deep, I know you feel the same. I mean where is the trust here? I don't know, I may not be able to come back from this rejection.

Tami

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9a)

Tami & Binky it's not working so just snap out of it:-). It's the neighbor and her dog, Heidi a mean boxer:-). If you offer her dog cookie (the dog not the neighbor) she'll show you where every hoya is:-).

Blessings,
Awanda

TUCSON, AZ(Zone 9a)

Hey Tami, I have lots of Dog treats!!!! lol Now just to find out when??? he he he :)))))))))

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9a)

Ok here is Heidi. Her owner said maybe I should have said her name was "Bruno", Heidi isn't a very scary name:-).

Can't blame a couple of girls for trying !!! What a cute little boxer.... Binky have dog bones ready.. I have a feeling she is leaving soon.....

TUCSON, AZ(Zone 9a)

TamiF, I have dog bones ready. And will keep my days open. LoL She doesn't look that mean! I bet she is a "Pussy Cat" he he :)))))

Prescott, AZ

O.K. Binky ya ready? She is gone. Lets get a time down, if you leave Tuscon and I leave Prescott we can get there about the same time. I'll bring the scissors. Speaking of cats hmmm the neighbor has one that uses my yard as it's litter box, I wonder how Heidi would like a kitty..... It would keep her occupied while we snipped, I mean watered Awanda's hoya's for her..

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9a)

Ladies one wonderful thing about the internet is that you can post from anywhere. The question is am I posting from Vegas or home??? Be afraid, be very afraid:-).

Blessings,
Awanda

Prescott, AZ

Ahhh very good question... But where are we posting from??? LOL

Edited to say. I'm on my second glass of fresh orange juice waiting on Binky. Scratching Heidi's hindside.
