Which is the real Bosenberry?

Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

A couple years ago I ordered some Bosenberry plants from a reputable company with whom I have done business for years. Some of the plants didn't survive so I requested and was promptly send replacements. Now this is where it gets confusing, interesting, etc. One of the plants is upright like a raspberry plant. The new ones are ground cover type plants. Which one is the real bosenberry or are they both bosenberries, just different types? None of them have born fruit yet but I expect at least some of them to do so this summer. Thanks for the help.

don't know, all the Boysenberries that I have encountered are upright plants, but I supposed someone could have created a dewberry type cultivar.

Thank you. I will do some research on dewberries. Especially whether the company offers dewberries. I have thought about getting dewberries before. Both types of plants seem to be very vigorous. Time will tell.

my Boysenberry plants were all growing right on the ground and had to be trained up to the wire trellis. Was a lot of work and when I moved up here I did not bring any starts with me.

I love my large fruited TripleCrown ( think they are) blackberries. The berries are about the same size as my Boysenberries were and much easier to take care of.

Thank you, Ruth. I hope ours bear this year. If they don't I think I will dispose of them. There were only 6 plants and they occupy one end of a raised bed. I wonder what that upright one will turn out to be? Time will tell. LOL
