Would you consider accepting some Achimenes (instead of Gloxininas) for some Autumn Joy Sedum? My Achimenes have not emerged yet, but are a beautiful blue flowered variety. I've been looking for the Autumn Joy Sedum for some time, so hopefully we can find something to trade.

Hi, I hate to ask but what are achimenes? I cannot pull it up in PFs.
Autumn Joy would do great in a hot Florida garden. It spreads rapidly. Or it has for me in an amended bed. I have a lot of this and also a bit of Frosty Morn.

Here's the link in the Plant Files for Achimenes:

http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/857/index.html

The Plant Files locate the Achimenes if you put the name in the genus category rather than in the common name category.

My achimenes most resemble the 3rd photo down in the picture gallery (the bluish/purple variety). I've noticed the color of my achimenes vary from a lighter blue to a darker purple, possibly depending on the amount of light they get or soil acidity. I proposed the achimenes as a trade because they are in the same family (gesneriads) as the gloxinia you requested. The Plant Files show the achimenes rated for outdoor zones only from about 8a south, but you might be able to grow achimenes as a houseplant.

One of my 'Black Magic' elephant ears just emerged after winter dormancy. I might be able to add one of these to the trade if the others came through the winter o.k.

Any of the sedums would be very welcome! I was especially interested in 'Autumn Joy' because I grew it on a rooftop garden when employed as a gardener in NYC and enjoyed having the dried flowers for arrangements.
