The attached photo is of a long strip between my house (left side of photo) and the neighbors. The hosta belong to her. Center back of photo is a garden of hardy roses. I am going to extend that up to the back of their house, which is where the full sun ends. From there the strip is 45' x 4'. It gets about 2-3 hours of sun. This garden is my husbands to work with, but I am in charge of deciding what goes in. I don't want more hosta even though I do like them.
My biggest problem is how tall should the plants be? I keep rolling that around in my head and keep changing my mind so I am looking for ideas.
Keep in mind that this is a zone 4 garden.
