Looking for bananas, either Manzano or William's Hybrid.
I have one Black Magic now, and I'll have more soon. I also have small Giant Upright EEs.

CLOSED: HAVE: Black Magic EE
Would you trade for postage? I'd love some of the black EEs as I have a very shady property.
Woodspirit - sending you D-mail

Steve, I'm afraid my Manzano bananas are barely more than pups themselves (got them from Wellspring last fall), but perhaps I have something else you'd like in trade... I've been propagating African Violets this winter... I have several extra plantlets of a trailing standard (eg, not mini) variety called 'Allegro Appalachian Trail' that has soft green leaves & fantasty (speckled) blooms. Even if you're not a houseplant person, the AVs might work for you, as I know several folks in FL who have them outside in their gardens... a trailer might make a nice border plant. I have quite a few other varieties of african violets and other plants also (some neat colors of wandering jew & spider plants) that would grow indoors or outside for you.
I'll know more about outside plants when more start poking up, but I could send you a list of possibilities if you tell me what sort of plants might interest you... 'Red Dragon' Persicaria is a neat plant that would probably combine well with your EE's, and I had good luck rooting cuttings last year... I know I'll have 'Chocolate Peppermint' & 'Kentucky Colonel' Spearmint, Catnip, Coreopsis 'Early Sunrise' & 'Zagreb'... I'm also starting lots of seedlings (tomatoes, peppers, basil, flowers) and have undoubtedly sowed more than I'll be able to use...
Sorry not to have the bananas you're looking for, but I'm hoping I may be able to tempt you with a trade anyway! I'm making a new "tropicals" bed for my new bananas :-), and a 'Black Magic' EE would be wonderful there.
Thanks for considering it in case you don't find a trader with bananas.
I really need those bananas, and I don't have anything else to trade for them right now.
Here's what I'll do - if you're willing to be a little patient, I can buy Black Magic rhizomes at my local Home Depot for around $5.00
Add another 2 or 3 dollars for shipping, and you'll have your EEs for 7 or 8 dollars.
I don't want to make any money here - I'll do it for cost.
The rhizomes will shoot up in no time.
Let me know.
Steve
No problem... I completely understand! I'll get in touch with you if I can't find them elsewhere, but I think I'll be able to come up with some at a reasonable price around here... I will check my HD this afternoon! Thank you!
If you don't have luck trading for the bananas, you might consider Wellspring Gardens. They have an eBay store. I was very happy with the banana pups they sent me last fall. I'll cross my fingers for you that somebody will have them for trade... :-)
