Here are the photos I had promised y'all.
These are my rehab babies.

You rehab these little guys as a part of a group? What a wonderful experience. Do they have teeth at this age? What and how often do you feed them?
Wow and the bunny poops on your hand in grattitude!
When i was a teenager my younger brother brought home a racoon w/o eyes open; a friend's dad/farmer had shot the mother and then they found 2 babies. My mom and our vet creeated a baby formula...it was a work in progress that she sometimes didn't tolerate- one day a friend of my dads came to visit- not one of my favorites, sort of a pompous, rude man who treated his wife and daughter as 2nd class citizens and thought his son- a terribly dull, inactive, TV addicted, indulged boy as though he were something special- anyway, I digress; much to my absolute glee as this man held our baby she proceeded to express, all over his shirt, her intolerance for the most recent changes in her formula! I was about 14, brothers were 16 and 11 and I promise that we were raised to be polite and mannerly, but none of us could stop laughing, we had tears rolling down our faces and finally had to be sent to our rooms! LOL what a fun memory.
How wonderful.
Very pretty AV and the pot too.
Hi April, I feed them at different times. The small squirrel is fed every two hours with one feed at midnight and another at 4am before starting again at 8am. The two in the middle are fed every two hours but not at 4am.
the older group are fed every 4 hours but they also have things like vegetables and fruits.
I also have two 14 week olds that I will be releasing next weekend. They do not have formula anymore, just plain squirrel food.
I syringe feed them for most of the time they are here. From newborns to about 12 weeks.
Rabbits and opossums have to be tube fed.
Did I miss how you come to have these guys? Does someone bring them to you or do you find them? (squirrels, etc.) I know how you find AVs. HA HA
Love your optimaras. They are great. Neat sunroom, too.
Wow you must be a busy and sleep deprived person! But how exciting.
I will have to share you photos w/ my 16 yr old, she is in love w/ animals and I am sure she would be in awe of you.
Thank you for sharing all - it's nice to hear what other interests we have.
Spider, you are a special person.
Too funny, hadfieldp- I was prepairing a long answer on how to find AVs- LOL, you are too funny.
Hi!
I did a wildlife rehab course and am under someone's licence until I get mine. People find us through rehabb websites, pet shops, vets, etc.
Most of the time they bring the animal but sometimes I go and get them. Two weeknds ago I had to go all the way to Atlanta at 10pm to get two 5 day old squirrels.
April, if you daughter wants to know more I am happy to talk to her.
Pam, I bet you thought i find them on Ebay!
Their so cute Anna. Yes how did you learn how to do all this ? Where did you get them from ?
Your Optimara girls are so pretty ! Your new little girl reminds me of my Sassy Shell I grow ! Thanks for sharing the pictures :))
Violet, we must have been typing at the same time. They answer to your question is above your post.
Well, you can find just about anything on EBAY nowdays....what a neat thing you are doing. You have a special heart to take care of all these little guys. They are lucky to be in your care. : )
Awwwwww,,,,,,, thank you Pam.
*Spider blushes*
okay,I'm coming in late on the thread, but those little critters (no offense Jill) are too darn cute, especially the bald one.
And your av's and garden room are GREAT! so tidy! So glad that our computers don't have cameras, because if y'all saw my playhouse right now, I'd be mortified. Perlite all over the floor (DH and kids don't understand that there are containers on the floor and step on them by mistake), plants shoved in every cranny.
Begonia, I have just finished cleaning it. Tomorrow morning it will be disgusting again.
Lots of people ask if we get paid for doing rehab. I don't get anything. All the food, cages, medicine etc comes from my pocket. Some peeps who have rehab centers get registered as a charity but we who work from home don't.
So cute! It is so admirable to help these little helpless animals. I couldn't do it though--I am completely terrified of squirrels.
You wonderful Spider :))
I am not, Violet. I am lucky I have the chance to bring up such beautiful creatures.
Yes amazing !
Oh they are too cute! The babies are so sweet :)
Those babies are adorable! My kids loved looking at the pictures. My son asked where you live and if we could come see the babies! LOL Thank you for posting the pictures.
