Need help to identify this plant

Drumheller, AB(Zone 2a)

Hello!

I was just given this leaf and the lady said she bought it from Alannah and it is marked as Cranberry Swirl but someone looked it up for me in First Class and this doesn't look at all like what it is supposed to be.

Any help would be appreciated...it has a gorgeous flower on it.....now to wait for it to sprout.

Thanks,

Joanne

Looks like the Buckeye Cranberry Swirl in First Class to me :))
Buckeye Cranberry Swirl (8746) 07/27/1998 (P. Hancock) Semidouble light cranberry ruffled star/dark cranberry and purple fantasy; variable raspberry edge. Variegated dark green, cream and pink, heart-shaped, serrated/red back. Large
Was it from Alannah who got killed ? Sure is a special plant!

Hi Allison,

Yes it was from that Alannah...she had some lovely stuff!

I tend to agree with you as well that it is Pat's hybrid. It sure is a beauty.....can't wait until my leaf starts producing babies. Maybe by the summer mine will be blooming.

I was just going to ask if it is a standard but I see it is.

Thank you very much Allison for the photo and the description.

Gorgeous Bloom!!!

Hi Allison,

Very sad....what a terrible loss for us. I bought a couple mini geraniums off of her and a mini easter cactus I think it is...I had bought some other AV's that are in AV heaven now with Alannah.

The gal that took it over Jacki runs the business as Blue Fox Farm and I have placed an order with her but won't get it until mid-end of April.

Looking forward to having some name brand AV's now.

I can hardly wait until my baby blooms....it is definitely a keeper.

Joanne I still think the name they told you is true. Lorry's may even be marked wrong ? There are a lot os Buckeye's that look close to each other .
BE Cranberry Swirl was not in AVSA Phtot's BE Cranberry Sparkler was and it looks alike. I think it's safe your name is correct Joanne :))
Oh I did not know Jacki took over Alannah 's I had not looked at Jacki's web sight yet. A friend of mine use to buy some Gessie's from Alannah she will be glad to hear this !
Yes Alannah is in Heaven :))

Yup..the color is bleached out in FC I would agree Allison :) I do love mine so..I just bought it at the garden sale :)
I was soo excited to actually see AVS there :)

Their so beautiful Lorry and as close as many of the Buckeye's are both your plants may be correct named.
Camera's pick up different looks too.
I sure love the plants you bought Lorry and great prices ! Was it a one day sale or on going ?
Can you spare a leaf of Frilly Dilly pretty please ?

Vero Beach, FL(Zone 9b)

It is just this weekend...It was at Harry Leiu gardens in Orlando :) Actually these were nestled along the corner of the fern ladies booth :) I almost overlooked them.
I am now wishing I had bought her out for the prices she was asking!

Frilly dilly can spare LOTS of leaves :) And may even have a sucker or two. I will know today when I repot..Many of them are full of suckers :) and if there are any..the first one is yours :). So I will send you leaves next time I ship to you or in a couple of weeks, if I have suckers..I may have a little plant for ya :)

They had another harmony I wish I picked up called harmony's pink something. She has a lot of lovely plants even though it was a small table ..Still kicking myself for not picking them all up :(

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

Oh my I wish I could get a hold of more Harmony's. And that one Begonia you bought for $ 3.00 WOW beautiful !
Can you spare leaf of Looking glass too I'd like to try one again. Leaves Mom gave me I killed :((
Gosh if I had known I might have forced myself to go to Orlando. It's not really that far.

Vero Beach, FL(Zone 9b)

I should have bought all the plants and I am kicking myself now :(

Well that was the only lady with Avs and as I said I should have bougth her out or at least bought the other harmony. Her plants were incredible!
