My first crocus

It's still cold here so I was taken by surprise on Monday by this sweet beauty!

Doesn't it gladden the heart! Looks like the sunshine brought it out. Haven't had much of that lately!

Boojum, The first ones always brighten your day.

I hope sooner. I was at a Home Depot today in NH and met a woman browsing through the plants like I was. She said nothing is out for spring so she is forced to buy a houseplant. Obviously, gardeners sap is running as well as the maples out here. We ended up swapping lots of garden info including DG, a great place to buy peonies in Norwich, VT and I told her about Joe Pye Weed for sibs. We are all chomping at the bit.

sj, I don't get to Andrews as much as Baystate and Hadley GC. I will miss Blue Meadow this year. The peony place in Norwich is called Countryman Gardens. I hope I got the right town, but I'm 80% sure it's Norwich. She said you can ride around on their wagon up and down rows of peonies to pick what you want. I'd love to see and buy a few. got to look into the norwich place! love a and d peonies- the pictures are so beautiful- we are really ready for spring, i guess- for some real plants! I have crocus blooming, and snow drops- boy do they get lots of attention! i'm sooo glad to see them- have to remember to plant about a million more this fall! i really hope to get to the roundup- it'll be lots of fun- we'll just be back from cape cod, so it'll be a bit of a stretch for me, but i'm going to try to make it.
