Has anyone else noticed a decline in butterflies? My neighbor and I plant more than we ever did and we've noticed this. In the mid 70's, we had luna moths. We noticed that they seemed to be comming out with a deformed wing. Basically a death sentence. We didn't use pesticides or lawn chemicals. One year I had 9 cecropia moths on a tiny lilac. A wasp got into every cocoon. Haven't had a moth since. One year we were thick with painted ladies. Now occasionally. I've always had swallowtails, yellow and black on my parsley and carrots,so I'll get a few. I can count on the monarchs tho, and I have a measly patch of butterfly weed.
