Mel here... I have been busy getting my house ready to sell... but watching my garden grow! This will be the best year yet... but may not get to enjoy it if things go as hoped!

My snapdragons are popping out right now, on cue... in time for an open house!

Thanks Sheila! I'm still hoping to be able to go to the RoundUp, so maybe I'll see you there.

Thanks Cat! I love that little symbol! Would I be jealous of your butterflies already? I've been too busy to hang out on the butterfly forum but will try and get there this weekend.

Thank you, and of course I remember you Sylvia! You brought me a cornflower. I don't think it survived the transplant. :( I do remember throwing out some cornflower seeds in the fall. I'll think of you when I see them!

You changed your ID? Was everyone confusing you and the other Sylvia?

Dallas, TX

No ... being called Sedrick felt sort of weird to me. I hate that about the Cornflower ... then again I lost mine too. as deep as those roots were I never thought I would lose it. Maybe I will get some seeds too. :)

Oh well...the plants are just part of the fun of the swaps! I thought of you today tho when I was watering and looking at this new plant that has grown in my front bed. I've thought it might be a Mexican Hat but something about it started to look different as it got taller and got a bud on it. Then it just hit me! It's a cornflower! I threw out seeds in the fall and I guess one made it up front. :)

BUT then I realized that the 2 Mexican Hats that I pulled out from in between my Poppies were Cornflowers too!! Ohhh no!! :( I ran and dug one out of my compost bag and stuck it in some water. Hey, never hurts to try, right? lol

I can't wait to go out in my back bed tomorrow and look around for more. So, the moral of this story is that they grow easily from seeds. I can't wait for it to bloom!

Dallas, TX

Yeaaaa, that a good story! and is a familiar scenerio with me. I know I have dug up plants in efforts to plant another. Usually I just start digging if i see a bare spot. No more ... I am just going to leave things alone for a year and see what comes up. Besides I got so much from that swap in Arlington and so much is coming up, I want to see what it is. ...matter of fact I got this little black pot with something in it and its taking off like crazy. I got to take a picture so someone can tell me what it is. Also I found three Daylillies, still wrapped in paper that was growing. (probaly from Mitch) lol Anyway its just exciting to see whats happening out there. I dont have this much luck with the stuff I buy in the stores.
