Fantastic!
I have numerous buds on mine this year, but I have not found strait answers on weather these plants are purely dioecious. Do you know?

I am not sure either, there was only one pod on the vine at work, and we did have some others for sale.
Kennedyh photo, above mine. in the plantfiles mentions shows both male and female flowers, but does not say they are on differert plants???

Maybe Ken will drop in.

Aha, look at Deblynns. Closely. Same panicle.

Some obscure place I read said that you one finds male, female, and androgynous plants. I believe it now. Mine only showed male last year.

Blenheim, New Zealand

I think you have it!!

Denver, CO

I will be downright fascinated to know if mine will have both, which suggests it is one of those clever plants that starts male (less energy expenditure) and goes to both later. By the way, what time have you in fair New Zealand presently?

Blenheim, New Zealand

Its just after 8 o'clock pm.and we have had a wonderful much needed rainy day.

Denver, CO

Just after 1 am, and we've forgotten what rain is.

I hope you all get some soon.

I will keep you informed in the next week or two when this monster blooms,

The one at work WAS a monster, just a little left now, love the blooms.

Madison, WI(Zone 5a)

I live in Wisconsin and just had two of these planted on a 18 ft. split rail fence in a back corner. Is this plant going to be really hard to control? Or will the fact that it will die out each winter keep it in control for me?

Blenheim, New Zealand

I think It will be cut back by frosts, but if it looks to be getting away, start chopping.
