My babies...

Here are a couple pictures of my AV leaves with their babies.

They look wonderful. Very healthy babies.

The pictures aren't very clear. I used my son's camera and it's different from mine. I'll get mine out today and see if the battery will stay charged long enough to take a few more.

Amy WOW beautiful healthy babies and Mom's too ! great growing you will have lots of babies :))

Most of those are your leaves, Allison, and a few are Lorry's, so the thanks goes to you and Lorry! Thanks for the leaves and the knowledge of how to grow them!

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

Amy is the girl leaf Orchid Girl or Wonderous Girl ?
They grew fast. I remeber you telling Bob and me you did not want any leaves. And I said oh no everyone must grow by leaf to feel the joy and share the joy.
Then you wanted more leaves :))
And look how great you are growing them wow so great ! You should be mighty proud !
Some of your plants must be big enough to take leaves from ? I know all those blooming minis are. Try to put leaves down from all your plants !

Vero Beach, FL(Zone 9b)

Simply wonderful Amy :) I am so happy they are babying off for you :)

Thank you all! Allison, I believe both Orchid Girl and Wonderous Girl have ears. Mosaique has ears, as does the Russian you sent me whose name I can't remember. Yan Selena, maybe? Several others as well. I'll get a list later of everyone who has ears.

Congratulations Raingazer.

How old are your babies?

Most of the ones above were put down 1-13, some a week or so later, and some 1-23 or 1-26 (I can't remember). The first ones put up their first ears almost exactly 6 weeks later.

Super job on the new babies. Looking forward to watching them grow up in to adult plants.

Thank you all! I'm having so much fun watching them grow. I got my camera temporarily functional so I took a few more pictures. I can work my camera much better than I can work my son's, so hopefully these will be a bit clearer. I love sharing pictures!

Here's the Russian Allison sent to me - Yan Selena

OH WOW cool looks like babies coming up way over the side too. I can't beleive now how many babies of this plant I gave away and how many I still have . Mom plant happy blooming. And when I sent you yours Amy I had no plants go figure. lol And Lauries I think was in a 3 or 4 inch pot ! Great grower :)) Enjoy !

Abilene, TX

Way to go!!! They look great - that was so fast!

I'm just thrilled with it, Allison! It has three separate leaves showing. I'm hoping each one will be a separate plant. I told my husband two or three times that I was afraid I had let them get too dry, but apparently they were just fine. It's not unusual for it to be in the upper 50's in the room where they are on a cold morning, either (Old house, very little insulation). I turn the heat up when I get up, but I was afraid it was too cool for them, but again, apparently not. Now if Blue Dragon would just put up some ears, that would be the icing on the cake! I keep watching...several times a day! LOL

More pics for you...

Most of them look like they're only putting up one plantlet, but a few of them seem to have several.

Thumbnail by RainGazer

The plantlet is Aly's Blizzard Bunny that Lorry sent me. I think the leaves are A's BB, too, but I can't remember for certain. I'm too lazy to get up and go see right now.

This one seems to have several babies.

These have just put up one little ear so far.

Amy your babies are wonderful ! Just beacause they show one baby in the begining means nothing you can get six plus. Their growing under there and amazingly will come up in their good time. I let mine get real big as tall as mom and nice big clumps be for taking them into their own pots.
Have you fed them ? 1/4 strength each time is good !
You sure have grown a lot of babies fast !
I have a couple Blue Dragons growing too. And Kenton too. I'd have to look to see all who got leaves.
Great job ! Oh do you have them under light ?

Lilburn, GA

Raingazer, they are lovely pictures and your babies make my mouth water!

Mansfield, TX(Zone 8a)

Just curious - when did you put the leaves down?

Missouri City, TX(Zone 9a)

Way to go! Congrats on your little darlings!

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

Well I sent Amy a bunch of plants and Leaves around the very end of Jan ! And Lorry sent her some leaves I'm not sure when . So she is doing a terrfic growing job :))
Amy make sure you put leaves down from all your plants. We will be having be Fall secret trades to get us threw the winter blahs :))
Have any blooming pictures Amy ? :))

Allison, I'm feeding them when I remember to. LOL They are growing under lights, and seem to be pretty happy. Blue Dragon has ears now, too! WooHoo!!

I put some of them down on January 13, some about a week later (the 20th or 21st, I can't remember), and more on Jan 26. I haven't looked at them this morning yet, so maybe more have ears and I just haven't seen them yet. It's such a joy to check on them every day and see how they're growing!

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

Well I know I sent the second box of just leaves way end of Jan. Once those babies start coming there's no stopping them !
