Need some positive thoughts for my cat- swallowed something?

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

My 18 month old cat (Slinky Doo) started to throw up yesterday and continued today. She is not a cat that ever throws up so I was very concerned. I took her in to the emergency vet and several hours of waiting and test it turns out Slinky Doo may have swallowed some string or a foreign body and will need surgery to remove it. The X-ray wasn't very clear so the vet was unsure what it is. I was going to leave her there and have more tests and the surgery done but was unsure about the emergency vet on call, I don't know nothing about him and was very nervous just to leave her there, plus I'd have to pick her up first thing in the a.m. and transfer her to my own vet anyway. So I opted to get Sub-Q fluids a shot of zantec and bring her home where she'll be comfortable. I'll be taking her to my vet first thing in the a.m for further testing and surgery if needed. Has anyone had a cat do this?
All her blood work was fine and she's not running a fever. She wanted to eat when she got home too.... The little pork chop she is....

Any experience or advice would be much appreciated. I'm so scared for her. Although this cat only likes my 7 year old we all love her and will do what it takes to get her well. Thank goodness my husband just got a bonus at work. Tonights visit was 400.00....... Any extra good thoughts this way would be much appreciated. Thanks guys. Kristi
