Recommended natives for Central Texas
Hazel! that is a wonderful link, thank you for putting it up.
Wow! if we keep this up, we are really going to get people excited about our wonderful native plants. This is wonderful!.
Josephine.
Josephine, I had found this link quite some time ago and had forgotten to mention it before. Yes indeed, it is a great site. I am going to try to visit this nursery when I can. You have to make an appointment to visit. I don't know if you read sbout the nursery and how the plants have been propagated. The owner is a man I would love to meet because he is so dedicated to saving our native plants from destruction.

When you click on a plant and its description pops up, it will show in the upper right hand corner if the plant, bulb and/or the seeds are available through the mail. If nothing is in the upper right hand corner, they are not available through the mail.

Today I will be adding the Woolly (Wooly) Stemodia tomentosa to the Texas native plants by picture page and the PlantFiles. Just wanted to let you know in case you need it for your search engine page.
Love,
Hazel
Hazel! you are amazing, no wonder we all love you.
Josephine.
Thanks, Jsoephine.
Woa, that really is a great site! Thanks for sharing it with us Hazel! (How do you find all this stuff?!)
Hazel, I have nothing to contribute, just dropped by to say Hello
Hazel, I had to tell myself, as I drooled over the plants, "You are only looking, your are only looking, you are only looking."
I need to get what I've bought this year into the ground before buying more. At least, that's what I promised my husband, but it's difficult to resist some of those plants.
Mary, you're welcome. I usually find the sites when I am trying to identify native plants that i have photographed and have no idea what they are. I have a bunch of them that I haven't been able to ID for 3 years.
Vossner, thanks for saying Hello. I hope all is going well with you and all of your great plants.
Veronica, I have been trying to plant a lot of my containered plants in the ground too and so far have been resisting buying more. I go to the nursery only to buy soil, compost, mulc. etc. and try to avoid looking around until I reach that section of the nursery.
