WOW She's beautiful ! Where did you get her ? I'd water her from the top for a month washhing out salts and any old soil . Then use Vf-11. If it was my plant I' s trans-plant her into my light soil- mix , new pot..

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

It's best to use a new bleached pot proper size . Depeneding on root system theses plants can grow into a 4-6 inxh pot. Be realy not to over water .These plants most of the time are potted in heavy soil. WOW yes becareful loads of money. For insurance down a couple leaves !

Gorgeous!!!!!

Anyone else who gets a huge plant like this in the mail... pretty please, take pictures of the packaging! I can't imagine how this plant traveled so well & arrived looking so fresh and perfect!

If the soil seems really wet, it's probably not a bad idea to repot it into a lighter mix (50% perlite), especially if the plant starts looking even a little bit droopy. When you remove the plant from its pot, you'll be able to get an idea of what the root system looks like. If the roots are filling the pot pretty well, then I'd suggest repotting into the same size pot (or wash/bleach the pot it came in & re-use it). Loosen the rootball to remove as much of the heavy soil as possible -- shake, jiggle, poke gently with a chopstick, maybe even swish a little in a bowl of water to get the old soil mix off the roots -- and then repot with *moist* (not sopping wet) potting mix.

Or just keep a close eye on it, be careful not to overwater, and repot it when it has finished its current bloom cycle.... my plants generally keep right on blooming if I repot while they're in bloom, but I understand if you don't want to mess with it while it's looking so purty!

Beautiful!

She is gorgeous. I love the every series. Critter, when annabelle came she was in a box that had a partially cut out circle in the middle and the plant sat right down into the circle with the top of the box supporting the leaves. A lid was on top and popcorn surrounded the entire package. Hope you can picture the packaging.

Lucky you Eunice!

I ship large plants all the time ! People say they make it real well !

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Nanna, I can envision that packaging, and it sounds like it would work beautifully!

The one larger plant that I shipped had leaves that wouldn't cooperate with being wrapped into a paper cone, so I ended up taping a wad of newspaper around the pot as a collar to support the leaves..... I think finding a small box to use would be easier!

Allison, maybe you could take pics for us the next time you package a large plant?

Thanks!
