Allison, In case the d-mail didn't make it. Thanks for the leaves. They certainly put a smile on my face and in the house. I looked up the pictures. The ones I could find are beautiful.

I thought it may look like Laurie Begonie 50 years from now with her top down going plant shopping !

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

Have you seen the picture posted in Begonia land Laurie went to a plant show a couple days ago and she was trying to get a large pant in her car . :))

You should have seen me with the 8' tall brug tree flapping in the wind! And the frappacino spilled in my lap!

you would be amazed at what I can stuff in that little beetle! I can do a full CostCo run with TP and paper towels too! Then hit the grocery store and stuff in a a little bit more!!

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

WOW Laurie your the Best !

SW, WI(Zone 4b)

(gasp!) Is that a begonia in that photo!!???
It's *fabulous*! lol!!

Do you drive sssssslllllllloooooowwwwwwllllllllllyyyyyy so's not to mess up the foliage?

I remember when my sister moved from IA to WI....she had her plants in the back of the truck....the wind just demolished them!

Northern California, CA(Zone 9a)

I commented on this thread and then my 'puter crashed! DRATS!

Anyhoo... nope no wind whipping in that little bug, I have a wind screen that keeps my coiffed hair (not really) in place and nary a breeze blows in the front seat! PLUS heated seats and a heater that will toast you out make riding with the top down a blast! My personal rule is if the sun is out and it's at least 55º, then the top is OFF!

I drove about 80 on my way home, now I can't say the same for my brugmansia tree, it got whipped into limp spinach but that's ok since Kell told me to remove the leaves anyway so it can focus on rooting.

But the begonia didn't feel a thing. It was laying down in the back seat. I had my music as loud as I can get it and just scooted home.

SW, WI(Zone 4b)

lol! You wild woman, you!! ;)

Sorry to slide off topic...but that Begonia is really impressive! I couldn't help it!

So is the Begonia as *huge* as it appears to be?!
Just curious....which one is it?

Northern California, CA(Zone 9a)

It IS that big! Joolz from the begonia forum believes it is Mrs. Fred T. Scripps (see the discussion in begonias http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/581020/ )

Take a look at it compared to her car! It comes up to my shoulders. The pot is a 2 gallon size. Now, what to do with it? and where to put it!?

SW, WI(Zone 4b)

Holey guacamole!!!
That is, indeed, a big 'un!!!

Honestly....I've never seen one that big.

Oh, *I'd* find a place to put it......we do have excess furniture, lol!!

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

Oh Nan she'll find a place. lol I think she may need a second greenhouse :)0
And Laurie is an incredible Lady ! We have never known anyone as wonderful as her :))
Me, Hubby and Precious !
