Hi:
This is my first time for this forum. Problem is, I have an umbrella tree that is about to reach my living room ceiling. How do I cut it down? I would appreciate any advice.
Thanks.
My umbrella tree.
I hope Al's 'in the house'....he can give you specifics, but you can cut this at virtually any height and it will branch and grow where you cut.
Some people have luck rooting the 'top' in water, but I've never been successful with that method.
Would love to see a photo if you're able to get one!
Ditto, Nan. Al's "the man" when it comes to Scheffs and Ficus and bonsai and soil and.....and....well, you get the picture. Oh, Al!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GH
VLC - I needn't add anything to what Nan said, it was right on. (Thanks, Nan) ;o)
GH - you're WAY too kind. Thank you. ;o)
Al
GH is right, Al.....youdeman! lol!
Just mannin' the ship while the captain's away....!!
Thanks, Nan. Someone said almost the same--cut the top off, and the tree will continue to grow, and set the cut-off part in water or dirt. Thanks also to tapla and grow happy. Who is Al?
Nan, I've got some film left in my Polaroid, will attempt a picture. It's not the prettiest tree in the world.
Thanks again.
