How does butterfly ginger do in hot climates?? We have a lot of heat and no humidity, will this be a problem because I have 4 of them and want them to grow.... any help will be appreciated :)

They should do fine if watered properly and given afternoon shade. What Hedychium gingers do you have? Most people are always asking how cold tolerant they are lol... Gingers come from South America, Asia, and Africa so most but not all are very heat tolerant, there are some Alpine varieties that are grown in Europe because they actually prefer the cooler temps.

I have the white butterfly ginger... not that that helps :)... right now they aren't growing, they're just in the pot... what watering requirements do they need, especially right now since they are non-existent...

I don't think you have to worry about watering until you see something peeking out. In the winter time I only water a little bit once a month
