Thanks Lorry for the pictures.
Well they came from 2 different places .
And what I read on Violet Barn the PH is off in the soil
and not allowing the plant to eat it's food. So it does not have enough chlorophyll .
I'd re-pot if you using just VF-11 that's great, if you use another fetilizer don't use a fertilizer with high middle number but rob says fertilizer with the three numbers close to the same.
Your plant should be better soon.

I only use VF11...I did repot it but will do so again and see what happens :)

Are all your plants in the same PH soil mix ? It may have nothing to do with you sense it had this problem when you got it.Good idea to repot it in a new sterile pot and sterile soil give it some VF-11 :))

Lorry, it's really possible that the yellowing is a result of a nutrient deficiency. There are some things you can use to green up the leaves. While I can't say for certain why the yellow leaves are yellow, you could start with some gentle remedies like fish emulsion or epsom's salts.

Chelated iron if that's the issue, but generally chlorosis shows green veins/yellow leaves.

Pretty hard to diagnose 'online' but I wouldn't say it a bug thing. Looks more like a lacking soil thing.

What did you find at Dr. O that looked the closest to your plants' problems?

edited for my poor spelling habits!

Well I did not think it was a bug thing. And I fount on Violet Barn you must of missed my zillions of postings. lol Even if the plant is getting the proper food if the Ph of the soil is off the plant will not be able to absorb the food.
Also if your using a bloom booster fertilizer this will happen also. He recommends using food of equal numbers. In his 25 year experience he has never used bloom booster for even shows. He sees no reason to use it. And it will make your leaves white, yellow take the color away. I posted links and information on Lorry's other yellow leaf thread !
This plant was yellow when Lorry bought it . She'll have ship shape in no time :))

online diagnosis is very difficult - it's difficult in person to begin with.

Please double check the stems under the pale leaves to make sure there are no shiny brownish dots..... I had this problem with a couple of mini AVs and I swear I checked for bugs a million times (lots of houseplant bug experiences from the orchids etc)..... turns out I missed some shiny dots which turned out to be scale. The look very different from the scale that shows up on orchids - much shinier and non-bug like.....

Did epsom salts do anything? That would be the first thing I would try.

Vero Beach, FL(Zone 9b)

Laurie..I agree and think it is a nutrients issue.

I have not tried epson but will look for scale again and give it some epson and see what happens :)

LOL I hope I do Allison :) I hope I do
It came as a sub plant from Bluebird.
I already have this one but figure it would make a lovely gift if I can save it.
Now my lemon drop on the other hand (the other that showed up yellow) Is my only plant of that I have.
So to save it would be good :)

I read your posts and think I replied to them Allison :) You are always so helpful. Each and every one of you have been awesome

Ok I am putting in my 2 sense after the fact...for all I know the problem could be resolved. Although I don't often use balanced fertilizers- not so easy to find, especially for "houseplants," Peters makes a balanced one that I have used in the past; my grandfather, who if I haven't said enough times, was a Cymbidium grower, recommended Peters specifically. Regardless of the fact that I loved him w/ all of my heart, I also respected his vast knowledge and experience. So there is my input.

Peter's does have some great fertilizer for Av's withour Urea !
Always to think about if PH of soil is off what ever kind of food you give you plants they will not be able to absorb.

Lorry how are the yellow leaves ? Hope their getting better !

Vero Beach, FL(Zone 9b)

They are beginning to green up but it is proving to be a slow process!

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

Well that's good their starting to green up ! Even uf slow. Some things take time !

Vero Beach, FL(Zone 9b)

Yeah..the plant looks much better :) I am hoping it comes back because she would make a lovely gift for someone :)
